Ashlan's Kindergarten Christmas Concert!

Here is a video of one of the songs that Ashlan sang at her Christmas Concert. She is angel #4! It was such a cute program. There were a lot of families that came to watch. I got there 15 minutes early and there wasn't a seat to be had!:( This was Ashlan's very first performance! I think she was awesome!

Christmas Tree Hunting

The Moglers came up and we went up into the mountains to search for a Christmas tree. We all had a really good time tromping through the woods. We saw lots of contenders, but none that "called" to us. We went to 3 different sots before we found "the one".
I'll post pictures of the tree in my next post. We still have to find some time to decorate it.

Fog!

This is what I woke up to yesterday morning. I really love fog when I'm not driving in it! The fog was all over, but by 7am, this is what it did. We could actually see the fog roll up and over the dam and settle over the lake. It was really beautiful!

Thanksgiving Cousins

These are the Snider Cousins. We went to the park while Chris' mom took a nap. We had a great time together. Sydney, Samantha and Dylan are great girls. Dylan and Ashlan were pretty much inseparable. Cameron, being the only boy, holds his own with these girls. Although most of his day was spent playing the Gameboy. Who can blame him with all these girls around!

Kayleigh, Allie, Madison, and Katelyn. Allie is really a Barlow cousin, but she fits in with these girls. I'm just sad that we don't live closer. Kayleigh loves going down because there are all these cousin she gets to hang out with!

Cameron, Derek and Dylan. These boys are crazy!!!! I'm so glad Cameron has boys to play with on this side of the family.

Here are the Bogh cousins who were at Thanksgiving dinner. We all had a good time together.

The Barlow's get together for a breakfast of english pancakes on Thanksgiving. We didn't think to take pictures until most of the cousins had already left. Darn! These are the cousins that were there. Kaitlyn and Garrett Tanner, Allie Barlow, Kayleigh, Cameron and Ashlan, and Brianna and Linzey Bogh. I'm so glad Ashlan has Brianna to play with on the Bogh side. She got to spend the night with her and she had a blast! This is big because she doesn't like to spend the night anywhere! We are so thankful for our family! We loved seeing everyone! we can't wait to see you all again at Christmas!

Fashion Show

I had Parent-Teacher conferences last week, so I left Kayleigh home for an hour with the kids. She is really wanting to babysit, so I am letting her do it for an hour or two during the day. I sat down this morning to empty my camera for the trip down south and this is what I saw. They had put on a fashion show. They did the show when I got home, but they must have practiced while I was gone and took pictures. It was so funny to watch! I think Kayleigh is watching too much America's Next Top Model with me! They each had 3 "changes". Enjoy!

Picture Tag

I was just playing with all my pictures the other day. I was trying new things! This is the 4th picture in the 4th file in my Pictures folder. This was taken at the ward campout we attended a couple months ago! This is Chris and Cameron, fishing. I love it in black and white!
I "tag" anyone who wants to play!

Sara Palin

Who says kids aren't listening to the news? Kayleigh was drawing pictures of her friends and brought this picture to me. This is Sara Palin. It also says "Yes on 8" and on the right side is a pig with lipstick on it. I didn't think Kayleigh was really listening to the current events. She knew quite a lot about what she was drawing. It also reminded me that she is growing up! Yikes! I don't know if I'm ready for that.

Happy Anniversary!

Chris and I just celebrated our 12th anniversary on Sunday. I've been looking for these pictures and just found them last night. These are the pictures we took for our wedding announcements. Jennifer should remember these because she took them! I can't believe how young we look. Chris has hair and my glasses aren't as gigantic. I never thought that I could love Chris anymore than I did then, but I can honestly say that I do. Chris is a wonderful father and husband. I was lucky to marry my best friend and can happily say he is still my best friend. We love this time of year because the anniversary of our temple sealing was on October 30th, 1999. Kayleigh was 14 1/2 months old when were went thought the temple to be sealed. We are very blessed to be able to celebrate 2 anniversaries.

Cameron's Field Trip

Cameron went on a field trip on Wednesday. His class went to the Lake Oroville Visitor's Center and to the Bidwell Bar Bridge. His class has been studying rivers, mesas, mountains, bays and so on. There is an observation deck, so they were able to see all the things they have been studying. Bidwell Bar Bridge is the first suspension bridge built in California. When Lake Oroville was formed, they had to move the bridge to a different location so that it wouldn't be under water. They kids got to have lunch here and then they got to run around! It was a really fun day. Cameron is in a really well behaved class this year! They were so good, they earned enough marbles to go bowling as a class. Here comes another field trip!

Lodi 1st Ward Camp Out

We went back to Lodi to attend our our ward's yearly campout. It was so great to see everyone again. We miss all the friends we made in Lodi. The camp out was a lot of fun! The kids played until about 10pm Friday night and were up at about 7am. Saturday morning the kids went fishing in the little pond. Cameron caught 4 or 5 fish. I think Kayleigh finally caught one near the end of our visit. Kayleigh got to take her friend Jade and Chris picked up Matti Roush on his way in. I didn't get very many pictures of Cameron or Kayleigh because I didn't see them very often. They were out visiting with everyone! I don't know where those two social butterflies came from!

She's Done It Again

Well, Ashlan lost another tooth! She was so Excited! Now that she knows first hand that the Tooth Fairy leaves money, she had a list of things she wanted to buy with her tooth Fairy money. Needless to say, the Tooth Fairy isn't as generous with teeth after the first one! The first tooth got $5 and this next one only got $2. She was excited anyways! She now has the cute habit of putting her tongue in the space where her teeth used to be.

I'm hoping to get some pictures posted very shortly of Chris on a giant bouncy house slide. He and our friend Chene were doing somersaults down the slide. It was hilarious! Unfortunately I forgot my camera, so I'm waiting for Andrea to burn them onto a disk for me. We're going camping with them on Friday, so I'll try to get it then!

Tagged
My cousin Jennifer tagged me. I have never participated in anything like this so here are some 6 random things about me.

1. I am addicted to watching America's Next Top Model. I don't know why, I just Have to watch!

2. I play the piano. Not very well, mind you, but I do play. I took lessons when I was little, so I am a little rusty. I got my Grandpa Barlow's piano from my mom a couple of years ago. I like to go downstairs and play Hymns. I am getting better and better. I don't know that I'll ever be able to play in front of other people though. I get way too nervous and end up playing really badly!

3. I make and mail anniversary cards to all the aunts and uncles and to all my cousins. I also make and mail birthday cards to all the aunts and uncles. It's a huge task and I don't always get them out on time, but I don't think I've missed anyone yet.

4. I don't like to be in front of people. It is way out of my comfort zone to talk to a group of people. This makes me extremely nervous, my face turns bright red, and I get teary eyed!

5. I love to stamp! I can honestly say that I am addicted to it! It doesn't matter what I make, as long as I stamp on it. The kids in my Sunday School class think I'm crazy because I stamp on my visuals and also my handouts!

6. I love to can. I make and can jam and just recently I canned some tomatoes. I don't get do it very often beacuse I don't really have anywhere to store the jars of whatever I am canning!

The Rules:
1. Link the person who tagged you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Write 6 random things about yourself.
4. Tag 6 people at the end of your post and link to them.
5. Let the person know you tagged them on their blog.
6. Let the tagger know when you've posted.

Now I'm tagging Leisl, Natalie W., Natalie P., Sara, Aaron, Stacy, and anyone else who wants to play! I'm sure some of you have shared random things before... but you've got to think of more!

Chris' Birthday

Happy Birthday Chris! My wonderful husband turned 37 yesterday! Ashlan helped me make cupcakes, well, she kind of help me frost them. She did more tasting than helping! We didn't do much for his birthday, except the cupcakes! Chris wanted to just sit and watch a football game, so that's what we gave him for his birthday. Chris is an outstanding husband and father and I am so blessed to have him in my life! So again, Happy Birthday Old Man!

We went to Buck's Lake for Labor Day. It was super windy, but the kids had a great time! The Mogler's went with us and we loved having them with us. Here are just a couple of pictures I took yesterday. Cameron was the only one to fall in the lake, so we had a good day!

Lost Tooth!

Ahlan has had an eventful week! She started kindergarten AND lost her first tooth! She came home from school yesterday and I saw that her tooth was practically falling out of her mouth. She had me pull it out and was so excited!

Here she is showing off her "hole". She told me she has a hole in her smile now!

Ashlan had me take a picture of her first tooth. She was so proud of herself!

1st Day of School! Yipee!!!!

Yesterday was the first day of school for ALL of my kiddos! Ashlan got into the all day kindergarten program, so she got to ride the bus with the other kids. Kayleigh and Cameron both decided they were too old for pictures at school. Ashlan told me to leave pretty much as soon as she got to the classroom. I thought I was going to have a little drama, as she does not really do well with changes. No tears, no drama. She told me I didn't need to say goodbye again, to just leave. Yeah!! I thought it was interesting to me how differently I looked at the kids in kindergarten. They all looked so small. When Kayleigh 1st went to kindergarten, I thought all the kids were so big! I guess that comes with the way I see the oldest and the youngest! I actually spent the day by myself! It was so very nice! I think I will get a lot of cards made this next month! No distractions, no arguing children, no stomping, no noise! AHHHHHHHHHHH!

Kayleigh Turns 11!

Wow! Kayleigh turned 11 yesterday. I can't believe how fast they grow up! It doesn't seem like she could be this old! We love Kayleigh and we are so proud of the person she is becoming. She was so happy that Grandma and Katelynn could be her for her birthday. Kayleigh had a slumber party with a couple girls from church. Katlynn, Jessica, Kayleigh, and Bailey all had a lot of fun. We made some fun totes Saturday morning as a goodie bag. Happy Birthday Kayleigh!!!

Road Trip to Reno

Mom , Sara, and I got a chance to go to my cousin, Jared's wedding. He got married in Reno on Friday. The three of us had a great time! On our way to Reno, we stopped at this Vista Point and took a couple of pictures. It was an amazingly beautiful drive. This is Mom and Sara.

Here's me and Mom!

At the wedding reception, we decided to get a picture of all the cousins who were there.from left to right:
Jared, Sara, Michael, Mindi, Liesl, Stefani, Tanya, Me, and Amy
We were happy that we were able to visit with them all. We haven't seen each other in a really long time, so it was good to catch up!
Congratulations to Jared and Stephanie Cook!

We'll miss you, Sara!!!!

Sara came to visit us before she moved to Miami, Florida. These are some pictures from her visit. Katelynn is the daughter of Steven's girlfriend, Sarena. She came up with My mom and Sara to visit. Sara left yesterday to start her new adventure in Miami. We will miss her, but we know she is going to have a great time!

Rees Family Visit

For some reason, we didn't get pictures of Sydney and Samantha. Kayleigh was in charge of the camera and I guess she didn't think about it. Everybody had a great time visiting! Unfortunately, the Rees family only came up for a quick visit before they went camping with their church group. They got here Sunday afternoon, and left after breakfast on Monday morning! Thanks for coming to visit! We loved visiting with you! Next time we're all together, I'll make sure we get some pics of all the cousins!

Where is Sleeping Beauty?

Chris' sister, Karyn and her family came to visit on Sunday. Ashlan had this fun idea to hide from Dylan, Sydney, and Samantha. After about 15 minutes, Cameron came out and 15 minutes later, we decided to see what Ashlan was doing. We found her under her bed, sound asleep!

All we could see was her face! She was so cute! She must have slept for about 45 minutes. We she finally came out, she told us, "It is comfortable under my bed"!

Our Gymnast of the Month

Here is Kayleigh showing off her medal and certificate from gymnastics. She was so excited to finally receive them. She was going to be gymnast of the month , but had to come home, so they sent these instead. I understand from my friend, Andrea, that Kayleigh was doing things some of the girls took a year to learn. She did it in just 4 or 5 lessons.

We are so proud of Kayleigh! She worked really hard to earn these!

I did this on my cousin Liesl's blog! I thought it would be fun:
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory you have of me... doesn't matter what it is big or small... just a memory. Then...
2. Repost these instructions on your own blog and see what you come up with... just try not to embarrass me too much!!!

Smoky Days Are Here Again

Well, I was a little optimistic on the 3rd! The 3rd and 4th of July were beautiful! No smoke to speak of we sat on our deck most of the 4th! When we woke up on the 5th, this is what we saw. We have now had almost 3 straight weeks of smoke! It's to the point now that it's making me sick. The call it smoke intolerance or something like that. I was feeling like I had a really bad flu bug. I don't have any energy. It's also been hovering about 106 degrees for the past week, so the heat isn't helping, me or the fires! My only other complaint is that the kids are stuck inside! They really haven't been outside to play for 3 weeks! :( They are more than a little stir-crazy. This picture was taken at about 7 in the morning. That little red ball is what we call the sun! At least that's all we see of the sun lately! Okay! Enough feeling sorry for myself! The next picture will be a little more fun!

Our Little Deer Family

I finally got pictures of the deer family that frequents our yard. They stroll through our yard at least every other day, but I've seen them now every day for a week. This mama has two babies, although they are different sizes. They one trying to nurse is bigger that the one in front. They are so cute and playful. We love watching them.
Here is the little one watching me. She heard my camera beep on and turned to keep an eye on me! She is so stinkin cute!
Here is the bigger one. She also heard my camera beep on. I interrupted her munching on some greenery! I think this is the baby I caught on video in an earlier post. I don't think they came around the whole time my mom was visiting and she wanted to see them. She left and they've been here every day! Sorry Mom!!

Very Little Smoke

Just an update on our smokey situation! The only smoke we can see is along the ridge back behind the lake. There is still a very strong smoke smell in the mornings and at night, but we can see the lake again. Yeah!!!! The only bad thing is that the lake is super low right now.
