Smoke from the fires

This is what we woke up to this morning. Yesterday we could barely smell it and the smoke was far away. This morning it doesn't even help that all the windows are closed, we can still smell the smoke very well. I think at last count, there were something like 109 fires in Nor. Cal. There are fires all around us and we sit in kind of a bowl, so the smoke is just sitting here today. I don't think we will be going anywhere today. Just so you know, you are looking at the lake and a suspension bridge! Can't see it today!

We were going to call you guys yesterday to see if the fires were anywhere close to you. Are they close, or are just getting the smoke. That picture brings back memories from the fires a few years back by mom's house. (Well...I guess they were by our house, too.)

The fire is on the other side of the lake. I don't think we have anything to worry about, but they say they won't have it contained until July 1st. Today the smoke is worse. I'm thinking of taking the kids to the movies just so we can go into town and out of the heavy smoke.

Good luck with the fires. I am a little glad I don't live in Folsom anymore.

I thnk the last count on the fires in Nor.Cal was over 500. Most of them are small, but the fire fighters are stretched pretty thin! Every day seems to get worse. I can't see anything past the neighbor across the street. It feels like it should be a foggy January day, except that it's about 96 degrees! Crazy!
